Whole Brain Teaching: Kindergarten (Expanded!)

This teacher is beyond fabulous! She has such a wonderful teaching style! She uses both verbal and physical cues for the students to understand and know what is going on. I love all of her little "sayings" she uses. Her method of teaching seems to keep the students involved and attentive. Would you use this style of teaching in your classroom? Do you think the pace is too fast for some students?

  1. I thought this was a great teaching style for a kindergarten class. She really did keep them involved and the use of rewards was really great to keep the students attentive. She used curent music to review the alphabets which I felt the kids really enjoyed. I also liked the way she kept the students involved throughout the lesson. This is a teaching style I would use in th classroom. It seems like to pace is pretty good because of the number of time rules and other letters are repeated throughout the day.

  2. Wow! What a great teacher! I loved all of her sayings, too. I loved the way the students knew exactly what was coming next. It was like she was leading the class but the kids were totally teaching and guiding. The simple way she made them line up was a great tool to avoid chaos at line-up time. I could tell by the way they lined up that she had groups with leaders and names. I did think this was a little fast paced if you were not used to it. I also think this would be hard to train students to do - but very effective when done correctly!
